Protections as a Service (PaaS)

Why invest in your own equipment when you can rent? With our PaaS model, you rent protection gantries for the duration of your project, including installation, follow-up and dismantling. You only pay for what you need, when you need it.

Every assignment starts with a study that determines the required height, width and foundation based on the specific conditions on site, from conductor sag to the bearing capacity of the ground. The result is an installation that is fully compliant with the guidelines of the domain manager, the stakeholders involved and the AREI.

Modular design, maximum flexibility

Our gantries are built from three core components that together form a modular and scalable system.

Concrete blocks (SYSTEM ETD)

The foundation of each gantry is formed by our own concrete blocks in which steel tubes are cast and anchored in the reinforcement cage. The number of blocks per foot is determined by the stability study and can be flexibly adapted to local conditions.

Wooden poles

The uprights and crossbeams consist of wooden poles of 10 metres in length. Each pole is produced and individually tested in accordance with EN 14229, and fitted with a unique identification number.

Steel clamps (SYSTEM ETD)

The connection between poles and crossbeams is made with our own proprietary clamping system, manufactured in structural steel E355 and hot-dip galvanised. The system has been fully calculated for strength and deformation, and reliably secures the crossbeam on the load-bearing poles.

Configurations

Our system features two configurations that can be combined as desired. Exact dimensions are determined per location based on conductor sag, required safety distance and the width of the working area.

Standard configuration

Basic configuration consisting of two uprights and one crossbeam. Bridges a maximum width of 10 metres at a crossbeam height of up to 9.5 metres. Can be supplemented with extension elements, each consisting of one additional upright and crossbeam. The most commonly used setup for standard crossings.

Special configuration

Custom configurations for specific applications, such as gantries with one-sided support (single foot), larger spans up to 30 metres or versions with protective nets. These setups are fully tailored to project requirements and environmental conditions, offering maximum flexibility for complex or non-standard situations.

Terrain is no obstacle

Our gantries stand everywhere: alongside motorways, above railway crossings, at waterways, on industrial sites and at the entrances of company premises. The gantries are placed on the existing ground level and can be completely removed afterwards without leaving any traces.

For hard-to-reach locations, we work with all-terrain vehicles and cranes that can navigate even waterlogged or unpaved terrain.

End-to-end support: administration and permits

Installing gantries on or next to the public domain involves a web of permits, signage plans and coordination with authorities. ETD bv takes care of all of this.

We handle the permit application including signage plan and placement of site signage, temporary no-parking zones, negotiations for permission from landowners, and coordinate with the municipality, road authority, railway authorities and waterway management.

In short: you indicate where the gantries should stand, we take care of the rest.

Safety as a starting point

All installations are carried out by VCA and ELIA certified technicians who speak the local language. After installation, you receive a delivery report and stability note. During the rental period, we carry out periodic checks on stability, settlement and cleanliness, and take immediate action when needed.
